Tulsa has a growing and incredibly diverse Asian community: families, immigrants, refugees, students, and multigenerational Asian Americans who bring so much culture and heart to this city. But for a long time, our communities have been spread out, disconnected, or working in small pockets without a shared place to gather or grow together. We’ve had moments of celebration, but not enough year-round support or structure to keep that momentum going.

Those of us who’ve worked in the community have felt this gap for years. We’ve seen great ideas stall because people were stretched thin. We’ve seen passion turn into burnout. We’ve seen cultural groups working hard, but often alone. And we’ve felt the frustration when systems or structures, even well-intentioned ones, weren’t built in ways that made it easy for Asian communities to collaborate or be supported.

Tulsa Asian Collective was created because our community deserves something better. We deserve a space that brings people together across cultures, generations, and identities. A place that celebrates who we are, helps us connect with each other, and strengthens the foundation for future Asian leaders in Tulsa. A place that isn’t temporary or dependent on one event or one committee, but something steady and community-led.

TAC exists to be that home: a shared hub for culture, collaboration, and belonging. A place where Asian Tulsans can show up as themselves, feel seen, and help build something lasting for the future.

We’re here because Tulsa’s Asian communities deserve a sustainable organization that supports us, celebrates us, and helps carry our stories forward. Not just once a year, but all year long.
